Hotel Barcelona Universal

Comfortable room with a rooftop pool, but outdated interior was disappointing.

The location is simply fantastic. The hotel is clean and very modern furnished.

The standard king room we stayed in were double superior and comfortable quiet with big bathroom. All of the staff was decent and best.

Ask the staff for cocktail-making classes. They are fun and a great way to unwind after a day of sightseeing.

Nice big room, very clean, super nice staff, the location directly at the metro station Paralel, also bus stop directly in front of the house. Very good restaurant/tavern in the house. Breakfast buffet everything available what the morning hunger desires. even champagne!

The superior double room had air conditioning, a minibar, and comfy beds. The rooftop bar was amazing for cocktails, and we enjoyed fine city views. Breakfast was abundant with scrambled eggs, fresh fruits, and pastries. Daily housekeeping kept everything super clean. The metro was super close.

We were going on a cruise and the location of the hotel meant that we could walk to the bottom of the road and easily pick up the port bus, we used the hotel the night before and the night after the cruise. On the day we left the ship we dropped off our luggage at the hotel, stepped outside the hotel where the Metro station is situated and went sightseeing for 6 hours, after which the Metro delivered right back to the doorstep of the hotel. The hotel staff were very helpful in the planning of our day and gave us a map which they marked up for us.

The location was great and everything was very clean.

The hotel staff was very helpful. They all spoke English. Pablo Perez, the manager was always attentive to our needs. He suggested safe streets to walk and to be aware of pickpockets. I e-mailed him before we came to Barcelona to make arrangement for the room. I wanted to be away from noise so we were placed on the 6th floor towards the back of the hotel which was very quiet. I also made arrangement for Pablo to receive our tickets to the soccer game which I received when I checked in. Our room was always clean and beds were comfortable. The hotel was within walking distance about 10-15 mins. to Ramblas, Catalunya, Barri Gothic and La Boqueria and the port of Barcelona. We had a pleasant stay and would like to thank the staff for their hospitality.

The Hotel was centrally located th the historic area of Barcelona and the cruise port. We could walk from the hotel to seeany sites. The staff were very helpful and always courteous The rooms were clean and comfortable. I would easily return to the hotel or recommend to others.

We visited the port, perfect for a lively evening out, and enjoyed a theater show nearby. The staff were super friendly, and the location made it easy to get around.

Unfortunately, the water pressure in the shower was really low, making it a bit frustrating when getting ready in the morning.
